From document to answer, with every step visible.
1. Upload or create a document. The server converts it to structured text. OCR can be inaccurate; import warnings remain visible in the editor.
2. Saving creates an immutable revision in organization storage. The server checks your session, role and limits before reads and writes. Private notes are not shown to the other party.
3. You explicitly start AI. The server builds a request from the selected document and question, and sends the text to the configured endpoint. Long inputs are rejected. The answer is saved as a private annotation on that revision.
4. Sharing uses expiring invitations. Access can be revoked. Copies already downloaded by a recipient cannot be erased by revocation. Export and organization deletion are in settings.
You decide where your document is processed.
Self-host: your computer, your administration
Documents and revisions stay on storage you administer. AI text goes only to the configured local model. Zentrodocs does not receive it; your machine administrator can technically read it.
Hosted B1: trust in the administrator
Planned EU hosting means convenience, not cryptographic secrecy from the operator. Accounts, roles and limits can be exercised locally. Public hosting is not deployed in this release.
Hybrid: a future split deployment
The goal is hosted collaboration with inference on your endpoint. Full hybrid operation and client-side BYOK are not implemented. Do not send sensitive material to an unverified endpoint.
